Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will be playing a special concert at New York's iconic Apollo Theater on March 9. The show marks the ten year anniversary of The Boss' satellite radio station and will air live and in full. Reps from the channel's network say they're thrilled about the milestone: "We are proud and excited to celebrate ten years of satellite radio with one of the most enduring superstars of popular music . . . The studio, along with Imagine Entertainment, are still in the early stages of developing the project, which is largely dependent on the logistics of filming, staging and releasing the movie. A source close to the deal says Paramount hopes to follow the template of last year's Justin Bieber: Never Say Never.

The worldwide record for a concert film is held by Michael Jackson's This Is It, which grossed $261.2 million in 2009.

Deal making is still in the very early stages, and no director is officially on board as of yet.

"Now that we're in this room, let's do what we were born to do/ Populate, let's get together, make the world better," sings the R&B icon on the '70s-inspired tune, which he wrote and produced. Write Me Back is R. Kelly's first long player since 2010's Love Letter.

Madonna has dropped subtle hints that she may be hanging up her acting career for good. The Material Girl, who has acted in movies since 1979 but has never really been able to establish footing in the acting world, responded to a question asked by MTV News about whether or not she would act again. "No [I don't want to act], but I do [act] every day of my life. I like directing better. If I write it and direct it, then it's my voice. If I'm the actor, I'm just a pawn."

U2's The Edge and Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones are teaming up to work on a new app WholeWorldBand, which will allow for musicians worldwide to share music. According to Music Week, WholeWorldBand was developed by Kevin Godley (10CC) and Andy Wood (Hypergallery, Cubic Motion). "WholeWorldBand is a revolutionary new online music tool that provides a new platform for distribution while offering the opportunity . . ."

The "Summer of '69" rocker will kick off the run in his homeland on at the Mile One Centre in St. John's, Newfoundland. The Canadian dates will continue through June 22, when he'll wrap things up at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. These dates will follow an extensive tour first in Japan starting on February 13 and then in Europe on March 17.

Simon Cowell is reportedly considering offering up the newly opened job of X Factor judge to none other than Beyoncé. According to a new report from Britain's The Sun, Simon is also planning to make an offer to Bey's fellow diva Mariah Carey. "Simon wants nothing but the best for the X Factor and Mariah is the best," the source tells The Sun.

Abdul broke the news of her departure from X Factor earlier this week, saying she harbors no ill will towards either Cowell or the show's network, Fox:

"I wanted to let you know directly from me that it's true I won't be returning to The X Factor. Looking forward to an exciting year ahead and making great music and more! I'm grateful for the love you always give me."
